John Edgar For Colorado's 5th

John Condemns Talk of Civil War

I, John Edgar, candidate for the United States House of Representatives in
Colorado’s 5th Congressional District, vehemently condemn recent remarks by local community leader Andrew Wommack, which suggested that a civil war may be justified as a means to change the country into something more aligned with his vision. Such rhetoric poses a grave threat to our nation’s unity and undermines the foundation of democracy.

As a candidate for public office, I stand resolutely against any rhetoric promoting violence or civil unrest. I emphasize the importance of upholding principles of peace, unity, and respect for the rule of law.

Wommack’s comments contradict not only the principles of our nation but also the teachings of Christianity. Drawing from my upbringing in the Episcopal Church, I cite scriptures such as Psalm 11:5, James 1:20, and Proverbs 3:31-32, which underscore the importance of rejecting violence and seeking harmony in society.

I call upon all candidates in Colorado’s 5th Congressional District, as well as Representatives Lauren Boebert and Doug Lamborn, to join me in unequivocally denouncing Wommack’s remarks. I urge a return of any financial contributions received from Wommack or related entities, aligning with my commitment to peace, unity, and respect for the rule of law.

As a candidate, I take seriously my responsibility to foster inclusive and respectful discourse. I call on fellow citizens to stand together against violence and division, emphasizing the power of voting in shaping the nation’s direction and for all Americans to rebuke this type of hateful divisive language.
